I can’t remember details, but in her book (My Life in School: What the Teacher Learned) she talks about taking students on a retreat at some lake cabin and reading some bit of literature under a table. Josh Njobe (now rapper Dandii Sun) still talks about getting under the table in my first-days-of-class furniture pile sculpture and how it changed his life.
